Product Introduction
Chaga (Inonotus obliquus), also known as the "King of Medicinal Mushrooms," is a parasitic fungus that grows on living birch trees in the cold circumboreal regions of the Northern Hemisphere, including Siberia, Scandinavia, Alaska, and northern Canada.
The sclerotium begins to accumulate 3–4 years after infection and can reach 5–40 cm in diameter over 20–30 years of growth.
Chaga has been used as a folk medicine since the 16th century in Russia, China, Korea, and various Western countries.
Chaga contains over 215 bioactive compounds, including polysaccharides (β-glucans), triterpenoids (inotodiol, trametenolic acid, lanosterol-type triterpenes), polyphenols, melanin, lignin metabolites, and alkaloids. Among these, Inonotus obliquus polysaccharides (IOPS) are considered one of the major bioactive components.
